GSCF is proud to announce John Wesley Shipp is coming to Garden State Comic Fest: Great Adventure Edition this May 27th at Six Flags Great Adventure!
John played the title role in the CBS sci-fi adventure series The Flash (1990-1991), a cult favorite based on the comic book character that allowed the actor to play the dual roles of scientist Barry Allen and the titular Flash. The show continued on in reruns and in fan communities long after its network demise. He briefly returned to daytime with a recurring role on ABC's All My Children in 1992. Shipp has reached a new generation of viewers as Dawson's dreamer dad Mitch Leery on The WB's hit drama Dawson's Creek, a role he played from 1998 until the character's death in 2001.
Most recently John has been on Teen Wolf, and can be seen in a recurring role as Henry Allen, the father of Barry Allen in the CW's The Flash (2014) reboot. In the second-season finale of The Flash, Shipp played The Flash - Jay Garrick, an alternate universe counterpart of The Flash. He also provided the voice to the villain Professor Eobard "Zoom" Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, in a 2010 episode of the animated series @Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
