Bud LaRosa is coming to Garden State Comic Fest at Codey Arena in West Orange

Bud LaRosa (Nekros) was born in Brooklyn N.Y. January 1966 and his first piece of artwork sold was at age 11. A comic book mural for a store wall. He has not stopped producing artwork since then, that was forty eight years ago. He picked up his first camera at age 14. He excelled at art in High School which led him to major in art history and formal art. He trained formally at the illustrious Art Students League of New York. In 1985 he began a full time career as a freelance artist for Marvel Comics and D.C. Comics. This is not only where he perfected his craft, but also where he learned discipline, keeping deadlines, working under great pressure and how to grow creatively. Being in the comic book industry for eighteen years has taught him the dramatic cinema style which lends itself to other areas of art, painting, photographic or otherwise. In 2001 he was involved in a severe car accident. As a result, he felt a career change was in order, so he started to paint in Oils and Watercolors seriously. He has been showing at all the finer galleries all across the United States, including the Chelsea area in Manhattan N.Y. & San Francisco CA. He’s not locked into one particular style or media..... Whether Oils, or Watercolors, Clay or the camera, pencils or dyes and perform works in each. Within each form he’s able to perform a multitude of different styles or when needed , stick to one...... Art is his love, it is all he knows......
