Dave DeVries

Dave is a renowned illustrator known for dynamic comic covers, posters, and trading cards for Marvel and DC Comics, including the iconic Marvel Masterpieces ’95 set. In 1998, he launched The Monster Engine, a viral project transforming children’s drawings into fully realized paintings. His diverse client list includes DreamWorks, Lucasfilm, Universal Studios, and Warner Bros. Animation, and he contributed concept art to The Lego Movie 2. Though he worked on Magic: The Gathering in the past, his latest work is on Magic: The Gathering: Universes Beyond, specifically the latest Spider-Man set. He is also a two-time NEA grant recipient, has exhibited nationally, and teaches digital art in New Jersey and at FIT in New York City.
